Additional Holiday Leave Granted to 12-Month Employees

Happy Thanksgiving - Happy New YearThe School Board has approved additional time off for 12-month employees for the upcoming holidays, consistent with state holidays approved by the governor. In addition to closing for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23, the Board has approved an extra half-day of leave on Wednesday, November 21. Offices now will close for Thanksgiving at 12 noon on November 21. Also, in addition to closing on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, January 1), the Board has granted an extra full day of leave on Monday, December 31. Offices now will be closed for the New Year’s holiday December 31 – January 1.

Changes to Teacher Landing Pages

ACPS Teacher SitesTeacher Landing Pages are no longer required by ACPS, and we are beginning the process of transitioning away from those sites hosted on the ACPS website (a.k.a., “SharePoint”) at https://www3.k12albemarle.org/teachers. Links to all old SharePoint-based landing pages will be removed from School Staff Directories on November 16!

JMU Leadership Program – Interest Meeting on Nov. 15

JMU will host an interest meeting for its Educational Leadership programs, including its M.Ed. and certificate options, on Thursday, November 15, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Stone-Robinson Elementary School library. Welcome to the Compass

Compass LogoIn case you’re unfamiliar, the Division Compass (or “Compass” for short) is a communication tool intended to keep Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) employees apprised of important, interesting and helpful information. The primary goal of the Compass is to improve employee engagement, and ultimately organizational effectiveness.

For the last five years, the Compass has existed as an online, subscription-based news blog. In accordance with direction provided by division leadership, the Compass is discontinuing its subscription option; beginning today, all ACPS employees will receive notification of new Compass posts via email.
