The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards has kicked off its annual search for America’s top youth volunteers. This unique youth recognition program, founded 25 years ago by Prudential Financial in partnership with National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), honors middle level and high school students for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Albemarle County Public Schools maintains over 600 policies. Our policies are locally developed through our work with the Virginia School Boards Association and they are tied to Virginia Code. Several are locally developed. Our policies translate our core values of excellence, young people, community, and respect into the backbone of our daily operations and aspirations for students.

Now Forming CAT Product Teams – Submit Interest Form by Oct. 31

Project Team

Teachers: Our Content Advisory Teams (formerly Vertical Teams) have identified projects that the division will develop in order to advance our curriculum, assessment and instruction. Projects have been selected in response to suggestions made by the Content Advisory Teams as well as some of you over the last six months. The range of projects is diverse, from creating sample pacing guides to developing assessments to vetting potential curricular resources.

We are now looking for teachers across every discipline to work with a CAT Product Team to develop these projects. Please review project information, descriptions, and compensation and let us know by October 31 if you are interested in participating in any of the projects. Continue reading

Long Term Care Insurance Enrollment Window Open Through Oct. 25!

Kronos Shortcuts

Have you noticed two new shortcuts on your computer’s desktop? A shortcut for the Kronos Quick Time Stamp has been added, as well as a shortcut for the Kronos Dashboard (Kronos Workforce Central), the full client website.

What does this mean? For the schools and departments implementing Kronos in Phase I on October 19, those shortcuts will allow you to log in and access the time and attendance system. For those schools and departments that will implement in mid-November as part of Phase II, you will see these shortcuts, but you will not be able to use them to log in until Phase II launches.
