You Could Receive Up to $5,000: Apply for a Shannon Grant by April 19!

The Shannon Foundation wants to help teachers and schools implement their best ideas. Two levels of proposals are invited for the 2019-20 school year:

  • Level 1 grants, not to exceed $750, will be awarded to classroom teachers, individually or in teams, for projects that support original and innovative student activities.
  • Level 2 grants, not to exceed $5,000, may be awarded to schools for creative projects that enhance student learning across age and grade levels.

Open the application for all the details! Applications must be submitted by Friday, April 19. You can:

  • Email your application to shannonfoundation@fastmail.fm; or
  • Deliver a hard copy to the Central Office, c/o Phil Giaramita, ACPS Strategic Communications Officer.

Important: All grant applications that include technology purchases must be reviewed by LEAD prior to submission. Please email your full proposal to both Gene Osborn (gosborn@k12albemarle.org), Assistant Director for Technology Integration, and your principal for review no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, April 15. Please include “Shannon Grant Application” in the subject line of your email. You are encouraged to visit LEAD’s Technology Purchasing Support web page for a catalog of commonly purchased items and to consult with your LTI and CSS prior to this deadline.
