Half-Day Holidays in Kronos

Kronos Time and Attendance

On Wednesday, November 27, Albemarle County 12-month employees have been granted a half-day holiday, and that holiday has been added to Kronos. Please see below for information on how employees using Kronos should request leave for that day.

10/11-Month Employees (including Teachers)

Wednesday, November 27, is already a non-work day and built into your schedule. You do not have to do anything in Kronos.

Non-Exempt 12-Month Employees

Employees who want to take leave that day should submit a leave request for whatever amount of time constitutes a half-day, down to a 15-minute increment. For most full-time employees, this would be 4 hours. If you are a part-time employee and have questions about your standard hours per day, please contact your supervisor or timekeeper for assistance.

Exempt 12-Month Employees

Employees who want to take leave that day should discuss with their supervisor whether they will “flex” the time before or after the holiday or submit a leave request for a full day and then have the supervisor adjust the number of leave hours taken on the schedule. Here are the instructions for editing exempt leave requests on a half-day holiday.
