New Supports for Staff Wellness

TeacherFit

As we continue to work together to support our students, families, and each other, we also need to take care of ourselves. Our Professional Development team has put together several resources and opportunities focused on wellness.

Introducing TeacherFit

TeacherFit is an on-demand platform designed to support the physical and mental well-being of educators; however, all ACPS employees are invited to join. The virtual platform offers a range of resources with new classes and guided sessions each week, such as workout routines, yoga classes, and mindfulness sessions. Also, resources to use with students for brain breaks and student mindfulness are released three times a week. Sessions are archived, so you can return to ones that you enjoyed.

Interested? Register here. Once you are a registered user, you have the option to connect with colleagues by joining a TeacherFit group set up by school location and department.

Wellness Hub

Our Wellness Hub includes a collection of resources and articles on teacher wellness with an emphasis on self-care. The collection is housed in the Online Professional Development page of the ACPS Professional Development site. The collection will be updated regularly, so check back often!

Small Group Workshop

Teaching in Tough Times: Staying Resilient during COVID-19 and Beyond

In January, counselor and mental health expert, Steffi Winter-Martin, will facilitate a four-part workshop series for educators interested in learning more about stress, our response to stress, and strategies for managing it. Sessions will be held January 7, 14, 21 and 28, at the following times:

  • Elementary Educators: 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
  • Secondary Educators: 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Registration is available through the internal ACPS PD Opportunities site, and space is limited to ensure a more personal experience.
