Region’s Top Singers in Concert Tonight at Monticello High School
You’re invited! The finest young singers in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County will be on stage tonight at Monticello High School for an Honors Concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. The performances are open to the public and admission is free. If you’d like to attend but can’t make it to Monticello tonight, you can stream the concert live!
Eighty-five singers from Charlottesville, Albemarle, Monticello and Western Albemarle high schools and the Blue Ridge School will perform in Monticello’s auditorium, and approximately 100 middle school singers will perform in the Monticello Forum. Continue reading

School Garden Grant Program – Apply by October 31!
If you’ve considered building a school garden, or if you already have one, check out this grant opportunity! Whole Kids Foundation, a nonprofit started by Whole Foods, created the School Garden Grant Program in partnership with FoodCorps to provide a $2,000 monetary grant to fund school gardens, new or existing, to increase opportunities for kids to cultivate healthy eating habits. But hurry, the deadline is October 31! Winners will be announced in the spring—the perfect time to get the garden started! Announcing a New “Flipped Learning” PLC
Announcing a new professional learning community (PLC) devoted to Flipped Learning! The group meets the third Monday of every month at 4:30 p.m. at Lord Hardwicke’s in Charlottesville. If you are currently involved in flipping, thinking about trying it out, or want to learn more about it, please feel free to stop by. Everyone is welcome. The group meets for about an hour; some members get appetizers and dinner, and some only get drinks, but everyone is welcome to join in the conversation.
