The Monticello Bird Club of Charlottesville has joined with the Blue Ridge Young Birders Club to sponsor the second annual bird conservation poster contest. Open to public, private, and home schooled students in grades K-8, this local competition challenges students to create a poster that illustrates a key conservation threat to birds and suggests a solution to the issue. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. on November 19.
Students will compete within three divisions (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) to win some great prizes! Six individual students will win a new pair of binoculars, and six schools will win a complete bird feeder setup, including seed. (Judging will take age and grade of students into consideration when scoring entries.)
