ACPS Educators: As we recently shared, Albemarle County Public Schools will offer a Virtual School for the 2021-22 school year. The purpose of our virtual campus is to provide a full-day alternative learning environment for our families who have students who do not wish to return to face-to face learning due to concerns related to the pandemic. The virtual campus will serve students enrolled in Albemarle County elementary, middle and high schools.
If you are interested in teaching next year at the Virtual School, please visit Albemarle County’s Job Listings page to apply. (Hint: Type “virtual” into the search bar to narrow the listings.)
At this time, our virtual campus is intended to be a one-year campus. Tenured teachers who hold positions at the Virtual School for the 2021-22 school year will be assigned to teaching positions in their previous base schools for the 2022-23 school year. Teachers who are hired at the base schools to replace teachers temporarily serving at the virtual campus will be hired on one-year contracts.
