The Albemarle County School Board approved the official calendar for the 2022-23 school year at their meeting on January 13, 2022. The approved calendar is available to view and print in English and Spanish on our division-level Calendars page. Under this calendar, the 2022-23 school year will open for students on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Continue reading

The 8th annual WinterSongs benefit concert, which raises money for the Shelter for Help in Emergency, will be performed via livestream this Saturday, February 26, beginning at 1 p.m. Joining the Burley Bearettes Treble Chorus this Saturday will be vocalists from Albemarle High School’s Advanced Women’s Ensemble; Monticello High School’s Women’s Chorus, No Fella A Capella; and The Knightengales from Charlottesville High School. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the concert will be performed live from Monticello High School and broadcast to the public via livestream. Continue reading
As you may recall, in alignment with the school division’s Anti-Racism Policy, Superintendent Haas and the Albemarle County School Board asked all employees to complete the ACPS Anti-Racism Policy Orientation. The orientation takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and includes a verification form at the end that will confirm the completion of all activities. During the fall, we reached an 89% completion rate. With your support, we are hoping to reach 100% by Friday, April 1, 2022. Continue reading

Attention pre-K through first-grade teachers: Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts is offering you an opportunity to participate in a virtual 5-session classroom residency. Wolf Trap classroom residencies are creative partnerships between “Teaching Artists” (musicians, dancers, actors and puppeteers) and early childhood educators as they collaborate in using the performing arts to engage children, enrich their learning, and reinforce curriculum.
