Don’t Forget: Transition Your Google Apps Data by Jan. 15!

Transition Data by January 15, 2016!As you know, DART staff has consolidated our two Google domains into one. Students and staff using the student domain were asked to transition data and functionality from the student domain to the primary ACPS domain. The deadline for this data transition is January 15, 2016. After January 15, the @student.k12albemarle.org domain will be decommissioned and all data within that domain will be deleted. Poetry & Prose Contests for Middle and High School Students

Virginia Festival of the BookThe Virginia Festival of the Book has announced their annual Poetry & Prose Contests for middle and high school students! Selected students will be invited to read aloud their winning entries at the Poetry & Prose Celebration on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Charlottesville Omni Hotel. Selected submissions will be printed in the Festival’s annual anthology for middle school writers or Crossroads, the annual teen anthology for Central Virginia, coordinated by the Tupelo Press Teen Writing Center.

Welcome to 2016 — It’s beginning to feel a lot like winter!

ACPS Supt's BlogWelcome to 2016! I hope everyone experienced a relaxing holiday season with family and friends. We asked our staff and students to take time away from school and homework over the winter break to spend time with their families, read a good book, visit relatives, or simply do those things that families accomplish together — cleaning out a closet or repairing something around the home.

Now it’s time to get back to school and re-engage with our learners as we head toward the end of the first semester.
