Updated Workers’ Compensation Contact Info & Important Reminders

In an effort to better streamline the workers’ compensation process for all school division employees, we are happy to announce the activation of a new email address! Effective immediately, you can email any documents, questions or requests related to workers’ compensation to workerscomp@k12albemarle.org.

When you send an email to this address, you will reach all members of the HR Safety Team. This enables us to respond quickly to employees and their claims, as workers’ comp processes are all time-sensitive. Please email workerscomp@k12albemarle.org for timely communication.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out! While you are still welcome to contact individual safety specialists directly, we request that you update your contact information to include workerscomp@k12albemarle.org.

Here are a few important things to remember in the event you are injured at work:

  • If you are injured while at work, please report your injury to your supervisor immediately, even if you do not intend to seek treatment!
  • When in doubt, file a claim! There is no cost to file a workers’ comp claim, but if your claim is accepted by UnitedHeartland, they can cover the medical costs and even assist with wage replacement if you cannot work due to your injury. For instructions on how to file a claim, please ask your school or department office associate.
  • Communication is key and time is a factor in whether your claim is accepted. If you have any questions, please ask!
