Revised 2023-24 School Year Calendar

At their meeting on April 27, 2023, the Albemarle County School Board approved revisions to the 2023-24 school year calendar. To accommodate the presidential primary on March 5, 2024, and in an effort to make some additional improvements, the revised calendar includes the following changes:

ChangeWhat This Means for Students/Families
The non-student day reserved for Division Professional Learning Community meetings and professional development for staff (DPLC/PD) on Monday, February 19, 2024, moved to Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
  • February 19 will be a full day of instruction.
  • March 5 will be a non-student day.
The Teacher Workday on Thursday, March 28, 2024, moved to Friday, March 29, 2024, and the DPLC/PD day on Friday, March 29, 2024, moved to Monday, April 29, 2024.
  • March 28 will be a full day of instruction and the last day of Quarter 3.
  • Both March 29 and April 29 will be non-student days.
The Teacher Workday on Thursday, January 25, 2024, switched places with the DPLC/PD day on Friday, January 26, 2024.No impact; January 25 and 26 remain non-student days.
