The Department of Technology is seeking facilitators for this summer’s ACPS Coding Camp (formerly CoderDojo). ACPS Coding Camp is a coding academy that provides Albemarle County Public Schools elementary students with opportunities for creativity, innovation and fun.
ACPS Coding Camp will be the perfect opportunity to get a jump start on learning how to integrate the new Computer Science and Digital Learning Integration Standards of Learning! Facilitators will receive $40/hour for days spent instructing students, and $150 plus 5 recertification points for each professional development day attended (up to a total of 20 points).
Our intention is to offer ACPS Coding Camp at Center I at the following times:
- Session 1: July 10-13, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Session 2: July 10-13, 1 to 4 p.m.
- Session 3: July 17-20, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Session 4: July 17-20, 1 to 4 p.m.
These dates and times are subject to facilitator interest! Coding Camp facilitators should expect to arrive a half hour before campers and stay afterward to clean up and debrief. Facilitators may sign up for individual weeks, mornings and/or afternoons, or the entire duration. Orientation and professional development will be hosted for facilitators on June 30 and July 7, 14 and 21. View the full ACPS Coding Camp Calendar.
