In alignment with the governor’s decision to grant an extra eight hours of holiday leave to eligible state employees on July 5, the superintendent has announced that Albemarle County Public Schools will follow suit. All 12-month employees are hereby granted an additional day of holiday leave on Friday, July 5. All school and department offices will be closed for the Independence Day holiday on Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5.

As we usher in the 2019-20 school year, the school division is delighted to honor all of your hard work by extending to you this extra holiday leave. In addition to celebrating the anniversary of our nation’s independence, we hope you find time next week to enjoy family and friends and reenergize yourselves for a successful new school year!
