This summer, the EdTech Team will pilot a new type of professional learning as 32 teacher fellows join Learning Technology Integrators, highly innovative ACPS faculty, and the students in the CoderDojo and Fine Arts academies to work on reimagining learning in and around their classrooms. Click on “Albemarle Summer Fellowships” within the Summer 2016 PD Course Catalog to get more details and learn how to apply.
Teachers who join the program will spend two days in June and a full week in July working with students in a technology-infused, multiage, cross-curricular environment and reflecting on and studying the emerging pedagogies. Participating teachers will receive their summer CEUs, additional CEUs, and a stipend to help cover the additional time investment. In return, teachers will commit to video recording new activities their students participate in during the regular school year and sharing their work with the school division.
DART’s commitment to technological innovation is never separated from the student learning we seek in Albemarle County, and the EdTech Team is happy to help our division explore the possibilities of embedded experiential professional learning through our program this summer.
