Back to School Bash on Aug. 19 – Volunteers Needed!

Each year, Albemarle County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Schools join forces with several community organizations to offer free school supplies and backpacks to families in need. This year’s Back to School Bash will be held on Saturday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ting Pavilion in Downtown Charlottesville. In addition to free school supplies, the event will feature free sports physicals, music, games, local vendors, and more!

In order to make this special event a success for our families, we need volunteers! In addition to assisting with set up, distribution of school supplies, and clean up on the day of the event (Saturday, August 19), volunteers are also needed as follows:

  • Friday, August 11 @ 1 p.m. – Organize supplies
  • Saturday, August 12 @ 10 a.m. – Volunteer lunch, training for event day, and bag stuffing
  • Sunday, August 13 @ 1 p.m. – Bag stuffing
