What’s the BIG news?

Open Enrollment is up and running! If you’d like to attend a group information session, TODAY’s location is: COB 5th Street, Room A, Noon to 1 p.m.

Want to talk with a member of the benefits team? We’ll be available at the following locations:

  • Friday, June 27 – Hollymead Elementary School, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 2 – Cale Elementary School, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 9 – Western Albemarle High School, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We’re also available for appointments in the Human Resources Department Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Open Enrollment period (please call 434-296-5827 to schedule a time) AND on a first-come, first-served basis Wednesdays from 12 to 5 and Fridays 8:30 to Noon!

What do I need to know?

Open Enrollment is available through July 15th. We ask that ALL benefits-eligible employees log-in to your Open Enrollment site, review your information, make changes (if you wish), then hit the CONFIRM button to save your visit. REMEMBER: If you want a medical or dependent care flexible spending account (FSA) for next year, you MUST enroll annually in order to participate.

What else is going on?

Leave benefits focus groups!

The new VRS retirement plan (the “Hybrid” plan) leaves us with a dilemma that must be addressed—what do we do about our current leave policies when one group of employees has state-mandated leave benefits and administration that are different, and potentially better, than what other employees have? If you have not yet participated, look for more focus groups and other opportunities to give your feedback in August. We want to know what you think!
