Albemarle County Payroll is in the process of updating our payroll system (Great Plains) to ensure that all email addresses in the system are work email addresses. This update also will cause all personal email addresses in Greenshades (our online portal for employee paystubs, HR documents, and more) to revert to work email addresses. We expect to complete this process by November 23. This update will only impact users who linked a personal email address to their Greenshades account and will not affect Greenshades user names and passwords. Continue reading
In concert with declarations by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, the School Board has approved providing a four-hour holiday for employees scheduled to work on Wednesday, November 27. As such, the County Office Building and all school facilities will close four hours early on November 27. This day was already scheduled as a non-student day as part of the Thanksgiving break.

Phase II will launch on November 16! All regular full- and part-time employees who were not part of the Kronos Phase I implementation will begin using the new time and attendance system on Saturday, November 16.
Albemarle County Government IT and Payroll are aware that a number of employees are not able to view their leave balances on their October paystub through Greenshades. Phase I of Kronos, our new time and attendance system, launched on October 19 for Broadus Wood Elementary School, Sutherland Middle School, Building Services, Fiscal Services, the Department of Technology, the Superintendent’s Office, and certain central office departments. Phase II, including all other ACPS schools and departments, will launch on Saturday, November 16.
All employees who will begin using the Kronos system in Phase II should complete the appropriate training module by Friday, November 15. You can access the training modules for exempt and non-exempt employees and teachers through our Time and Attendance web page. Have you noticed two new shortcuts on your computer’s desktop? A shortcut for the Kronos Quick Time Stamp has been added, as well as a shortcut for the Kronos Dashboard (Kronos Workforce Central), the full client website.
What does this mean? For the schools and departments implementing Kronos in Phase I on October 19, those shortcuts will allow you to log in and access the time and attendance system. For those schools and departments that will implement in mid-November as part of Phase II, you will see these shortcuts, but you will not be able to use them to log in until Phase II launches.
