The Employee Voice and Action Committee (EVAAC) invites employees in all roles across the division to complete a brief survey to help identify issues on which the committee should focus for the remainder of the school year. Your feedback will help the committee prioritize topics to discuss, make recommendations, and work toward improving working conditions for all employees.

We Notice 2024: Nominate a Colleague by Feb. 20!

We Notice

Our annual We Notice recognition program is accepting nominations through Tuesday, February 20! We Notice provides an opportunity for you to recognize a colleague whose work you would like to celebrate. This recognition can be given to any ACPS employee, such as teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, Building Services team members, cafeteria workers, school nurses, and bus drivers.

Nominations will be accepted from students, employees, parents/guardians, and community members through Tuesday, February 20:

School Board Grants Additional Thanksgiving Holiday Leave to All 12-Month Employees

Following a declaration by the Commonwealth of Virginia, and with appreciation and gratitude for everything you do each day for our students, their families, your colleagues, and our school community, the Albemarle County School Board has approved the superintendent’s request to grant a half-day holiday for all employees scheduled to work on Wednesday, November 22. All ACPS offices and facilities will now close four hours early on November 22. (This day was already scheduled as a non-student day.) Continue reading

PD Opportunity for TAs & EDEP Staff: Responsive Classroom for Support Staff

Only a few seats remain in our Responsive Classroom for Support Staff workshop scheduled for Friday, September 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lakeside Middle School. This session is for teaching assistants and EDEP staff. Participants will be compensated their hourly rate and lunch will be provided. Reminder: Making Connections Call for Proposals – Submissions Due Sept. 22

Mark your calendar! Our annual Making Connections professional learning event will be held Monday, November 6. Programming will consist of sessions facilitated by visiting educators as well as ACPS teachers and administrators. We are especially excited that Making Connections 2023 will again include opportunities for support staff to participate in professional learning! Sessions for instructional staff will be hosted at Monticello High School, while sessions for support staff will be offered at Albemarle High School.

As a reminder, any instructional or support staff member who is interested in presenting at Making Connections must submit a session proposal by Friday, September 22. Continue reading
