Mental Health First Aid Training Available This Summer
Are you interested in helping support students who are experiencing mental health challenges? Albemarle County Public Schools is excited to offer three Mental Health First Aid training opportunities this July 25, 26 and 27… available to all staff!
Mental Health First Aid helps individuals assist someone who is experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, participants learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Personal Leave: Feedback Requested by May 15
Throughout the spring semester, the Employee Voice and Action Committee (EVAAC) has been evaluating several issues related to working conditions for ACPS employees. At this point, we would like to share an update on our work pertaining to personal leave, which is earned by 10- and 11-month employees. (This should not be confused with annual leave, which is earned by 12-month employees.) In addition to sharing this update, we are asking 10- and 11-month employees for input to guide our next steps. We Notice 2023: Nominate a Colleague by March 31!
We are excited to announce the start of our annual We Notice recognition program! We Notice provides an opportunity for you to recognize a colleague whose work you would like to celebrate. This recognition can be given to any ACPS employee, such as teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, Building Services team members, cafeteria workers, school nurses, and bus drivers.
