The Piedmont Master Gardeners Association is once again offering grants for youth education related to horticulture and gardening. Any public or private K-12 educator or schoolyard garden coordinator in Charlottesville or Albemarle County may apply for a 2024 grant.

Attention teachers! The Public Education Foundation of Charlottesville-Albemarle (PEFCA) has launched its annual Teacher Innovation Grant program to support innovative, exciting and creative learning opportunities for public school students in Albemarle County and Charlottesville City. Mini grants up to $499 are available, as well as three tiers of project funding up to $4,500! Proposals must be received by noon on December 30, 2023, to be considered for funding for a January 2024 grant. (Grants can be used to support projects in spring and/or fall 2024.) Continue reading
We’re excited to announce that ACPS has formally partnered with DonorsChoose to fully leverage their community of citizen donors and corporate matches to serve our students. ACPS teachers and staff have already raised more than $300,000 in classroom resources through DonorsChoose over the years. While our district is committed to providing you with the materials needed to teach in the classroom or conduct distance learning, posting a project on DonorsChoose is a great way to bring those additional resources you feel are important for your students to make learning even more joyful and engaging.
