Shenandoah National Park Welcomes 4th-Grade Students through Every Kid in a Park Initiative

Every Kid in a ParkShenandoah National Park, as part of the White House’s new Every Kid in a Park program, is offering fourth graders (and their families!) the opportunity to see America’s natural wonders and historic sites for FREE! Fourth-grade students can visit the Every Kid in a Park website and complete an activity to obtain a free year-long entry pass to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks.

Fourth-grade educators: You can download the activity and print paper passes for each of your students by clicking on the Educators link!

Summer 2015 marks the 4th Annual Albemarle Leadership Academy! Applications are now being accepted to this exciting (and free!) summer opportunity for students who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2015-16 school year. VSCA 2015 Student Scholarship – Submissions Due by Apr. 17

VSCA Student ScholarshipThe Virginia School Counselor Association (VSCA) 2015 Student Scholarship was established in 2015 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Virginia students pursuing post-secondary opportunities. One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded each year funds are available. Participants should be high school seniors planning to pursue a post-secondary opportunity, with a minimum unweighted cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Applications must be submitted by April 17, 2015; final selection will be made by May 22.
