December 6-12 is Computer Science Education Week! Celebrate by participating in Hour of Code! Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code,” to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with one-hour coding activities, but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
The ACPS Learning Technology Team encourages all students to participate in Hour of Code. Check out these Hour of Code resources for some suggestions with activities to use with your students. We have coding opportunities for new coders and “comfortable” coders, as well as screen-free options!
Interested in participating? Be sure to fill out our Hour of Code interest form so the Learning Tech team can send some swag for your class! Please reach out to your LTI if you would like help planning computer science activities for your students.
