Attention Instructional Coaches, Diversity Resource Teachers, Equity Teams, Teachers, and Administrators: ACPS is pleased to announce two upcoming Culturally Responsive Teaching professional development sessions on February 7 for elementary educators, and February 8 for middle and high school educators. Please RSVP using the respective links by February 1.
In addition to exploring how culture influences the attitudes, values and beliefs that students and educators bring to the instructional process, participants will unpack the three ACPS characteristics of Culturally Responsive Teaching. Culturally Responsive Teachers:
- Acknowledge and incorporate the importance of cultural heritage of all students, while reflecting on their own personal cultural influences.
- Provide multi-cultural instruction and differentiation for relevance and rigor.
- Build positive relationships with students and families.

Both trainings will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel at 990 Hilton Heights Road in Charlottesville, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided!
