Attention Instructional Coaches, Diversity Resource Teachers, Equity Teams, Teachers, and Administrators! ACPS is pleased to announce two upcoming Culturally Responsive Teaching professional development sessions on October 16 for elementary educators, and October 26 for middle and high school educators. Sessions are limited to the first 30 registrants, so don’t delay—RSVP today!
Both sessions will explore how culture influences the attitudes, values and beliefs that students and educators bring to the instructional process. Participants will unpack the three ACPS characteristics of Culturally Responsive Teaching. Culturally Responsive Teachers:
- Acknowledge and incorporate the importance of cultural heritage of all students, while reflecting on their own personal cultural influences.
- Provide multi-cultural instruction and differentiation for relevance and rigor.
