Albemarle County again is partnering with Walgreens to bring the flu vaccinations to numerous school and local government sites. All employees (including temporary, substitutes, interns, and student teachers) are eligible to receive a flu vaccination with no out of pocket cost, even if they are not covered on the county insurance plan. Employees may go to any of the following clinics to get vaccinated. Walgreens will not be offering the nasal spray vaccine at these clinics, but they will provide the thimerosal-free vaccine for pregnant and nursing women as supplies are available.
Spouses, dependents and retirees who are covered on the county insurance plan are able to receive a vaccination also, but we will not be offering vaccinations to them at the county onsite clinics. Instead, we encourage them to go to a pharmacy to get their vaccination.
All employees must bring:
- Completed Walgreens Vaccination Consent Form
- One of the following: Coventry insurance card, if covered on the county insurance plan -OR- an alternate County ID (employee ID, paycheck stub, school ID), if not covered on the county plan
