Do you know an exceptional pre-K through 12th-grade educator who creates a love of learning, stimulates thought and dialogue, encourages students to reach high standards, strives to understand and meet the needs of students, and engages families in the education process? If so, nominate this deserving teacher for a 2021-22 Golden Apple Award by January 24, 2022!
Each year, one teacher from each public and private school in Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville is recognized with a Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching and community involvement. Each award winner also receives a $500 grant that can be used for classroom materials or professional development.
Nominations are now open! Colleagues, students, and community members can nominate candidates through the online 2021-22 Golden Apple Nomination Form. Printable forms are available on the Golden Apple Awards web page, along with more information about the award, including nomination criteria. Nominations will be accepted through January 24, 2022, and award winners will be announced in May.
