Household Hazardous Waste & Bulky Waste Amnesty Days

Household Hazardous Waste will be collected at the Ivy Materials Utilization Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29. This free service is available to residents of Albemarle County, Charlottesville, and Scottsville, as well as Nelson County residents who obtain a voucher from Nelson County government. Bulky Waste Amnesty Days will be held on the first three Saturdays in May from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • May 6 – Furniture/Mattresses
  • May 13 – Appliances
  • May 20 – Tires

Amnesty Days are free and available to residents of Albemarle County, Charlottesville, and Scottsville only. Appliances include: refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, and microwaves. Get more details »
