Board Meeting Highlights

Resolution Providing for Collective Bargaining
The Resolution Providing for Collective Bargaining was presented to the school board for information on March 28 and unanimously approved by the board on April 11.

FY 25 Budget Updates
Maya Kumazawa, Director of Budget and Planning, presented FY 25 budget updates, including a plan for addressing the current $13.3 million funding gap in preparation for adopting a balanced budget on April 25. Budget materials can be viewed on the 2024-25 Budget Development web page.

Special Education Annual Plan, 2024-25
Local educational agencies are required to submit an annual plan and application for providing special education and related services to children with disabilities in order to secure federal funds. Katy Compel, Director of Special Education, presented the board with the a Special Education Update and the 2024-25 Annual Plan.

Bellwether Updates
Chandra Hayes, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction; Megan Wood, Director of Professional Learning; and Craig Dommer, Director of Instruction – Tiered Supports, presented the board with an update on the instructional coaching model as well as a professional development plan for the HMH Into Reading literacy adoption (refer to the 1:55:07 mark in the video recording).
