Longwood is bringing their School Librarianship Program to a location near you! We are planning a new cohort of students from the Shenandoah Valley to begin Fall 2024 (August start).

Whether you have always thought it would be great to be a school librarian, you are looking for a new way to share your love of education with students, or you are looking for the right way for you to get into education, this might be the path for you! Longwood’s graduate program in School Librarianship has a path for those who hold a teaching license to add on the endorsement in Library Media PK-12 or to earn a Master of Education with a concentration in School Librarianship (with endorsement). We also have an initial licensure path for those without a current teaching license to earn the master’s and a teaching license with endorsement in Library Media PK-12.

In our hybrid program, most classes include an in-person component so you can develop those relationships that are so important in education. The best part is that we come to you! We will meet at Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) in Weyers Cave for our Saturday class meetings, and the remainder of the coursework will be completed online.

Interested? You’re invited to join Longwood’s School Librarianship faculty on Wednesday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m. at BRCC for an information session. Registration is encouraged, but not required. Feel free to attend the interest meeting if you have not registered, and bring a friend!
