A quick reminder on how we are making up inclement weather days in our 2014-15 Calendar: On January 20, we made up the day missed on January 14. The missed day of school on February 17 will be made up on April 3. The next two inclement weather days will be made up on June 8 and 9.

We will not make up further days missed for inclement weather by adding days to the calendar after June 9. Remaining inclement weather days will be made up with hours accumulated by the schools in excess of the minimum 990 hours required by the Standards of Accreditation. The June 8 teacher work day will move in accordance with make-up days and will not be lost.

On a related note, the ACPS Calendar Committee reviewed 1,175 survey responses regarding our strategy for making up inclement weather days during the school year. Based on the feedback and the Committee’s deliberations on the matter, the Committee drafted a third and final version of the 2015-16 calendar that preserves January 19, 2016, as a Teacher Work Day.
