There is a new contact for all things licensure-related!

Hello, I’m Michael Thomas and I am the new Licensure Specialist, following Beth Churms’ retirement in December. Having been with the Human Resources team since mid-2017, I’m thrilled to move into this role! As we move through the school year together, I aspire to improve communication and collaborate with each of you to work through licensure matters.

Be on the lookout for communications targeting frequently asked questions. I’m hoping we’ll get to meet as I continue to work my way through the schools to review general licensure issues/questions and to address licensure updates (for those due to renew this year).

I very much enjoy meeting everyone and learning about how Human Resources can improve our support of each of you. My goals include improving the way we view licensure, clarify processes, and communication, and helping the Albemarle County teaching community grow professionally.
