Now halfway into the seven-week Summer Academy in Southwood, participants have been busy making, doing, learning, and having fun! In celebration of their work, the Academy is hosting a Mini Maker Expo this afternoon, July 17, at 2 p.m., during which students will be investigating the insides of computers, followed by student-led project presentations. Many of the projects are going to be part of the upcoming puppet theater production. Additionally, the community is in the process of forming the Southwood Co-op and will be selling samples of bracelets, necklaces, and more.
Ice cold lemonade and snacks will be served, and there is a rumor that some community friends will be cooking some nopales! The Academy is located at 750 Java Court (corner of Bitternut and Java). If you can join us, please park on the street. We will be open until at least 6:30. Friends and family are welcome!
