The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is accepting applications for its Emerging Teacher-Leaders in Elementary School Mathematics Grants for Grades Pre-K–5 Teachers program as well as the Connecting Mathematics to Other Subject Areas Grants for Grades 9-12 Teachers program.
The Emerging Teacher-Leaders in Elementary School Mathematics Grants for Grades Pre-K–5 Teachers program aims to increase the breadth and depth of the mathematics content knowledge of one elementary school teacher who has a demonstrated commitment to mathematics teaching and learning. Grants of up to $6,000 will be awarded for the professional development of an elementary school mathematics teacher with mathematics content expertise.
Secondary teachers are eligible for the Connecting Mathematics to Other Subject Areas Grants for Grades 9-12 Teachers program, which supports high school classroom materials or lessons that connect mathematics to other fields. For 2015-16, grants of up to $4,000 will be awarded to persons currently teaching mathematics in grades 9-12.
Applicants must be current (on or before October 15, 2014) Full Individual or E-Members of NCTM. Application packets must be postmarked by November 7, 2014.
