As we shared with you throughout the budget development process, the 2023-24 budget includes a 5% pay increase for all regular employees on the classified pay scales and a similar step increase for employees on the teacher and bus driver pay scales, effective July 1.
12-Month Employees
For 12-month employees, the pay rate increase is effective on July 1, so it will appear beginning on your July 21 paycheck (for time worked July 1-14).
Attention 12-month VRS-eligible employees: The VRS contribution amount (employer and employee) on your July 7 pay statement will be based on your FY 2024 annual salary.
10- and 11-Month Employees
Ten- and 11-month employees will see the increase as described in our June 7 Compass post. As a reminder, exempt 10- and 11-month employees (like teachers) are paid for the remainder of their 2022-23 school year salaries over the summer; new pay rates will appear when the new school year begins.
Summer Work
For non-exempt 10- and 11-month employees working over the summer, the pay rate increase is effective on July 1. Pay rate increases for time worked July 1-14 will first appear on your July 21 paycheck.
Exempt 10- and 11-month employees are paid a set rate for summer school and will not see a change (example: summer school teachers).
