Amazing Story of an Albemarle County Employee:
Last fall, Laura saw emails about the Mobile Mammography coach coming to County locations. She thought, “This is so easy, because it will be really close to my workplace and it will save me time.” So, Laura made an appointment. (The Mobile mammography coach was almost canceled due to lack of participation, but at the last minute, enough people signed up to make it happen.) It was a good thing Laura did the screening, because a small lump in her breast was discovered. If she had waited to do her mammography later, things could have turned out very differently. With early detection and treatment, Laura was able to get help and change a life threatening situation. She was even able to do the Women’s Four Miler this year as a SURVIVOR!
