Save the Date: OA Summer Meeting – Friday, August 8!

Save the DateMark your calendars now! The OA Summer Meeting will be held on Friday, August 8, in the Albemarle High School cafeteria. The final details are in the works, but expect to have a full schedule of events from 8:30 a.m. until mid-afternoon.

Our GOAL for this year’s meeting? Create opportunities for you to share ideas and brainstorm with your counterparts!

The day will feature many opportunities for you to learn from each other via round table sessions on a wide range of topics, including best practices in dealing with unhappy parents, Responsive Classroom 101, emergency preparedness, and more! Round table discussion leaders include John Blair of the County Attorney’s Office, Carolyn Herring from Albemarle High School, Kelly Okken from Purchasing, and others.

We are looking for a few facilitators who would be willing to lead round table discussions on the following topics:

  • Stress management
  • Finding that elusive work-life balance
  • Developing a positive climate in your school/department
