WHO: Parents, caregivers, teachers, community members, and any others who are concerned for and about youth
WHERE: Region Ten CSB Conference Rm, 500 Old Lynchburg Road, Charlottesville, VA
WHAT: Anya Shaffer, Virginia’s Suicide Prevention Coordinator, will discuss how to talk with your children about suicide, recognizing warning signs and risk factors, and resources available for help.

9 to 10:30 a.m.
WHO: Community partner agencies; Coalition members; those interested in Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and similar helping professionals
WHERE: Boys & Girls Club, 1000 B Cherry Avenue, Charlottesville, VA
WHAT: Anya Shaffer, Virginia’s Suicide Prevention Coordinator, will discuss the connection between substance abuse and suicide, as well as means restrictions as a prevention strategy. Resources and information for your agency will be provided.
Light refreshments will be provided at both events.
