ACPS Educators: The Shannon Foundation is now accepting grant applications from Charlottesville City and Albemarle County public school teachers for imaginative, innovative, student-centered projects for the 2024-25 school year. The online application is available on the Shannon Foundation’s Grants page. The deadline to apply is April 17, 2024.

The Shannon Foundation invites two levels of proposals:

• Level 1 grants, not to exceed $750, will be awarded to classroom teachers, individually or in teams, for projects that support original and innovative student activities.
• Level 2 grants, not to exceed $5,000, may be awarded to schools for creative projects that enhance student learning across age and grade levels. Applications for Level 2 grants must be submitted by lead teachers or administrators who will assume responsibility for overseeing project implementation and reporting.

New this year, the Shannon Foundation has posted their Scoring Rubric for Evaluation of Shannon Grant Proposals, so you can review funding criteria as you craft your project proposals.
