Student Password Change—Thank You!

Passwords

The Department of Technology appreciates your support and patience yesterday with the required student password change. This change in practice for our students and staff is important and necessary for digital security. Also, practicing and understanding the importance of password security helps build our students’ digital citizenship skills—skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

We also appreciate the feedback we have received and would like to share a few lessons learned:

  • Please make sure students change their password to be 8 characters.
  • Students may not use a previous password.
  • For the password prompt to appear on a student’s laptop that has been asleep, students must be connected to the ACPS network and must do one of the following:
    • Restart;
    • Log Off/Log On; or
    • Use CTRL/ALT/DELETE to reset password.

The Department of Technology consistently works hard to create positive experiences for our users. We apologize for the technical glitch that occurred earlier this week, wherein students who were proactive and changed their password on Tuesday were prompted to change it again on Wednesday.
