Attention 3rd Grade and Virginia Studies Teachers: Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fairfax, and Virginia Beach have partnered to provide two exciting professional development opportunities this summer.
Both workshops present the chance to learn how to design and implement the Inquiry Design Model; to access the wealth of historical resources that our state has to offer; and to be compensated for doing curriculum work in the summer.

Participants in this workshop will design 3rd Grade World Civilization inquiries using the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) and partner with local museums and historical societies to create a bank of integrated inquiries as resources that are open source. John Lee, a co-creator of the C3 (College, Career, and Civic Life) movement, will facilitate this three-day workshop.
This is an opportunity to collaborate with teachers across the state to build integrated, inquiry-based learning experiences and aligned performance assessments for the scope for the 3rd grade Social Studies curriculum.
