ACPS is recruiting educators for our 2023 summer school program, which will operate July 3-27, Monday-Thursday. We need pre-K through grade 8 classroom teachers, teaching assistants, ESOL teachers, and site administrators (admin interns). We are also looking for teachers for our English Learner High School program.

Please complete our Summer School Application to be considered for a position. If you would like to apply for more than one position, you will need to fill out a new application for each position. (This is a quick process for current employees.)

Important note: Please complete an application even if you have already spoken to your building administrator about your interest.

Summer School Schedule

• Week 1: July 3-6 (no school on July 4)
• Week 2: July 10-13
• Week 3: July 17-20
• Week 4: July 24-27

Note: Pre-K Jumpstart will operate during weeks 2 and 3 only.

Compensation

Teachers will be paid 5 hours per day and one day of planning. The pay rates will be as follows:

• Teachers: $40 per hour
  • Teachers are eligible for a $500 stipend if they teach all four weeks (14 of the 15 days).
  • Jumpstart teachers will receive $250 if they teach both weeks.
• Administrators: $45 per hour
• Teaching Assistants: Your hourly rate + $5

Professional Development, Planning & Curriculum

There will be professional development prior to the end of school in addition to the planning time. We will continue to use Camp Invention, Being a Reader, Investigations, and ST Math as our summer school curriculum.
