Teacher Transfer Requests are now open to all teachers desiring new assignments for the upcoming school year. Tenured and non-tenured teachers may apply for any positions, regardless of length of service with ACPS, through the job posting website. The previous form is no longer being used.
Interested teachers should frequently review the County’s job postings for opportunities of interest and submit job applications as appropriate. You may apply as an Internal candidate (top right of the job postings page) and should attach a current resume. You are encouraged to sign up for “Job Alerts”, weekly notifications of current job postings as well. You will need to apply for each position individually; however, this is as simple as selecting the position from the list once you have created a profile and completed the internal application.
Principals shall give serious consideration to current teachers prior to considering external candidates; however, there is no guarantee of transfer. Teachers should let their current principals know their interests prior to applying for internal opportunities. Principals may contact other principals for references prior to decisions on interviews being made. Transfer requests will be considered for vacancies through June 15. No transfers will be made after that date unless there is agreement between the two principals.
