Teacher Transfer Requests are now open to all tenured teachers desiring new assignments for the upcoming school year. Teachers who are on a Performance Improvement Plan or who will be on an active improvement plan for the upcoming school year are not eligible to apply for a transfer. All other non-tenured teachers are welcome to apply for jobs online as vacancies become available.
Interested teachers should frequently review the county’s job postings for opportunities of interest and submit job applications as appropriate. Teachers should let their current principals know their interest prior to applying for internal opportunities. Principals may contact other principals for references prior to decisions on interviews being made. Please note that there is no guarantee of transfer.
A web-based form has been created for submission of requests. Human Resources will send your information to your current principal as well as your requested schools.
Important Dates
March 15: Deadline for Transfer Form for guaranteed screening
- You may select up to three (3) schools for transfer consideration.
- You may apply for additional schools, but the screening is only guaranteed for the three schools you indicate on the transfer form.
March 1 – June 15: Apply for positions as they are posted.
Transfer candidates: Please pay close attention to the job postings website and apply for positions for which you would like to be considered.
- A tenured teacher interested in applying for any position currently posted must apply no later than March 15, 2017, for consideration.
- Unless otherwise noted, as of March 16, 2017, you must apply for a position within the first three days of its posting.
June 15: Deadline for all transfers
The deadline to submit the Transfer Request Form is March 15, 2017; however, a tenured teacher may apply for a transfer through June 15, 2017.
