Important: If You Haven’t Had Your Computer Reimaged, You Won’t Be Able to Connect to the ACPS Network Beginning Feb. 14

Windows 10 Important Update

Last summer, the Department of Technology announced a plan to reimage every ACPS computer assigned to staff and students. The purpose of the reimage was to update our computers to Windows 10, the current Microsoft operating system. This update serves to protect our network from data breaches and viruses that can negatively impact our employees and students. The original deadline for this project was October 1, 2019; however, there are still employees who have not scheduled with their TSS to have their computer reimaged.

Please note: Any computer that has not been updated to the Windows 10 operating system by February 14, 2020, will no longer be able to log in to the ACPS network. Continue reading →

Required Maintenance for Windows Computers

Windows InterfaceAll staff members using a Windows-based computer will need to have their computer updated by their Client Services Specialist (CSS) prior to the start of next school year.

Teachers: You have the option of scheduling time with your CSS to have your computer updated before the new school year begins, or you may turn in your computer for the summer and have it returned to you during pre-service week. VDOE Licensure Requirements

1. As you are aware, your Virginia teaching license must be renewed every five years. Current Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) regulations require all teachers to complete 4-6 mandatory training requirements each time they renew their license. This is recent change. Required Annual TrainingIt’s time once again for Albemarle County’s Online Annual Training (OATs), your yearly review of policies, procedures, and other important information for all Albemarle County Public Schools employees. Please complete this required training by Friday, November 3, 2017.

It takes about 20 minutes to complete the 3-step process: (1) View the 2017-18 OATs presentation; (2) successfully complete a short online quiz; and (3) certify that you have completed the training.

Between August 1 and 18, all Albemarle County employees should access the Open Enrollment system to verify personal and benefits information, make changes to pre-tax medical and dental elections, and enroll in a flexible spending account (FSA/Beneplus).

Computer Update on the Horizon: All Employees Will Need to Back up Their Data!

During this refresh, DART will update your computer operating system (Windows 10 or Apple OSX) and other software on your computer to more current supported versions.
