The ACPS International & ESOL Program is offering an Interpretation and Translation Workshop on Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for staff who currently work in this capacity and are interested in learning more about best practices. The workshop will be held in the ESOL Office, located on the 3rd Floor of the Northside Public Library at 705 Rio Road West in Charlottesville. Lunch will be included! Email Storage Expansion for All & Productivity PD for ACPS Teachers

ACPS teachers, office associates, and other support staff engage in a high volume of email correspondence with families, colleagues, and school administrators. Currently, ACPS employees have access to 250MB of email storage through Outlook Exchange, the email application provided by Albemarle County Public Schools. In an effort to further support teachers and all employees, the Department of Learning Engineering, Accessibility and Design (LEAD) will adjust the storage limit of all email accounts to 2G. Doing so will expand email storage by 800%. This change will take effect on February 1.

In addition, the Learning Technology team will host a series of professional learning opportunities for ACPS teachers in February titled, Tips for Managing Your Digital World as an Educator. Continue reading

The International & ESOL Office Has Moved!

International & ESOL Welcome CenterThe International & ESOL office has officially moved to its new location at the Northside Library! The International & ESOL Welcome Center welcomes new international families to our schools and programs, registers families for school, provides language interpreters and translation services, and facilitates professional learning. You can assist us with spreading the word about our new location by sharing this flyer with families who come in contact with or ask about our office. We always recommend that families call our Welcome Center (434-296-6517) prior to dropping by, since staff may be out at schools or assisting other families.
