This is the fourth article in a series about getting to know the new ACPS Human Resources Department. This week, we’d like to introduce you to the Safety and Wellness Team.
With wellness as one of our four core values, ACPS invests in the safety and wellness of our employees and their families. We do this by providing targeted health education and resources needed for every body, driven by data, community outreach, and evidence-based decision making.
What Do We Do?
Workplace Safety
- Workers’ compensation claims and management
- TeleCompCare (24/7/365) nurse triage line
- Safety training and program development
- Identify potential workplace hazards and assess risks
- Develop and implement strategies and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
- Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) support and management
- Workplace exposures (e.g., bloodborne pathogen exposures, chemical exposures, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to workplace safety and wellness
Wellness Programing
- Manage the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Critical incident support
- Occupational health access and program
- BeWell programing and coordination of wellness events (e.g., vaccination clinics, Preventive Care Health Fair, blood drives, etc.)
