Board Meeting Highlights
Following are highlights from the school board’s budget work session on February 29, 2024. You can view the full Feb. 29 meeting agenda in ESB. You can also watch a recording of the Feb. 29 meeting on our YouTube page.
Budget Work Session #1
Fiscal Services staff facilitated the first work session for the FY 25 Draft Funding Request. The presentation included an overview of the budget document and addressed the following topics:
- Overview of Technical & Non-Discretionary Changes
- Compensation Market Update & Proposal
- Social Emotional Supports Overview & Proposal
- State Revenue Updates
- Operating Principles for Budget Reductions

Next in the process is a second budget work session and a public hearing on the budget on March 7. The school board is then scheduled to present their funding request to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors on March 11.
