VA High School Student Voter Registration Week: April 23-29

Terry McAuliffeGovernor McAuliffe has issued a proclamation to officially recognize April 23-29, 2017, as Virginia High School Student Voter Registration Week. During this week, high school students, teachers, and administrators across the Commonwealth are encouraged to conduct voter registration drives at their schools. As part of the Governor’s Challenge in High School Voter Registration, schools that succeed in registering at least 65 percent of their voting-age population will receive a congratulatory certificate. BOLT: Being Outstanding Leaders Together Against Drugs and Alcohol – April 24

On April 24, all Charlottesville/Albemarle middle school students and parents are invited to attend BOLT—a fun family event promoting healthy lifestyles and leadership through drug and alcohol education. Klebold, author and advocate for mental health awareness, research, and suicide prevention, shares the story of her son, one of the two shooters at Columbine High School in 1999, to help other families see the signs when their children need help.
