First Student Film Festival Coming This Spring!

Student Film FestAlbemarle County Public Schools will present a showcase of our finest student films from 6th to 12th grade in our first ACPS Student Film Festival on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Monticello High School auditorium. Students can submit films in narrative, documentary, foreign language, or experimental genres through the ACPS Student Film Festival website. Region’s Top Singers in Concert Tonight at Monticello High School

ChoirYou’re invited! The finest young singers in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County will be on stage tonight at Monticello High School for an Honors Concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. The performances are open to the public and admission is free. If you’d like to attend but can’t make it to Monticello tonight, you can stream the concert live!

Eighty-five singers from Charlottesville, Albemarle, Monticello and Western Albemarle high schools and the Blue Ridge School will perform in Monticello’s auditorium, and approximately 100 middle school singers will perform in the Monticello Forum. Continue reading

All-County Middle School Strings Concert – October 3

Strings ConcertOn Thursday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to Western Albemarle High School for this free concert, which culminates a full day of cross-school music rehearsals. The concert features 130 string players from all five middle schools. Pieces are rehearsed and conducted by our very own orchestra teachers: Richard Baritaud, Carrie Finnegan, and Shannon Hutchinson-Krupat.
